さのざくら (佐野桜)

「やまざくら（山桜）」の八重咲きの園芸品種です。京都の桜の研究家であった佐野藤右衛門氏によって選抜育種されたものです。４月の上旬から中旬ごろ、淡い紅色の花を咲かせます。卵状楕円形または長楕円形の葉は、開花とともに展開します。 |

バラ科サクラ属の落葉高木で、学名は Prunus jamasakura cv. Sanozakura。英名はありません。 |

"Sano-zakura" (Prunus jamasakura cv. Sanozakura) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a tall deciduous tree that is a double-flowered cultivar of "Yama-zakura". It was selected and bred by Toemon Sano, a researcher of cherry blossoms in Kyoto. The pale crimson flowers come in early to mid-April. The ovate or oblong leaves develop with flowering. |
