わが国の本州、中部地方以北から北海道、それに朝鮮半島や台湾、中国東北部に分布しています。山地や亜高山帯の林内に生え、高さは１５〜３０センチになります。根生葉は３出複葉で分裂し、長い葉柄があります。また茎葉は３輪生して３深裂、短い葉柄があります。５月から７月ごろ、茎頂に白色の花を１〜４個の花を咲かせます。花には、花弁状の萼片が５〜７個つきます。台湾華語では「匍枝銀蓮花」、中国語では「匐枝銀蓮花（fu zhi yin lian hua）」と呼ばれます。

キンポウゲ科イチリンソウ属の多年草で、学名は Anemone stolonifera。英名はありません。

The "Sanrin-so" (Anemone stolonifera) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed northward from Chubu district of Honshu to Hokkaido in Japan, as well as the Korean Peninsula, Taiwan and north-eastern China. This herb grows in mountane to sub-alpine forests and can reach 15-30 cm in height. The basal leaves are trifoliate and divided into lobes with long petioles. The cauline leaves are trilobate and three wholrled with short petioles. The 1-4 white flowers bloom at the stem tips from May to July. They are 5-7 petaloid sepals. In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "匍枝銀蓮花", and "匐枝銀蓮花" (fu zhi yin lian hua).
