タイからマレー半島に分布しています。「むゆうじゅ（Saraca asoca）」の近縁種で、川の畔や湿った斜面に生え、高さは１０〜１５メートルになります。３月から５月ごろ、赤橙色の花を咲かせます。花弁のように見えるのは萼片です。 |

マメ科ムユウジュ属の常緑小高木で、学名は Saraca declinata。英名は Red saraca。 |

The Red saraca (Saraca declinata) belongs to Fabaceae (the Pea family). It is a tall evergreen tree that is distributed from Thai to the Malay Peninsula. This species is related to the Ashoka (Saraca asoca). This tree grows in stream banks or wet slopes and can reach 10-15 m in height. Red-orange flowers come in March to May. The sepals look like petals. |
