アメリカ東部のジョージア州からフロリダ州、ミシシッピー州にかけて分布しています。大型の直立するタイプで、高さは１メートルほどになります。松が自生する湿原に生え、細長いチューブ状の捕虫嚢（葉）があります。その蓋の部分に蜜がでるところがあり、それで虫を誘っています。春に、暗赤色の花が咲きます。和名では「あみめへいしそう（網目瓶子草）」と呼ばれます。

サラセニア科サラセニア属の多年草で、学名は Sarracenia leucophylla。英名は White top pitcher plant。

The white top pitcher plant (Sarracenia leucophylla) belongs to Sarraceniaceae (the Picher plant family). It is a perennial herb that s distributed in the eastern United States; from Georgia to Florida and Mississippi. It is a large and upright type Sarracenia, about 1 m high. This herb grows in the bog where pines grow naturally, and has an elongated tubular bladder. There is a nectar gland on the cap of the bladder, which attracts insects. The dark red flowers bloom in spring.
