さつまのぎく (薩摩野菊)

わが国の九州、熊本県から鹿児島県、それに屋久島に分布しています。海岸に生え、高さは２５〜５０センチになります。茎や葉には銀白色の毛が密生し、葉は羽状に浅く裂けます。１１月から１２月ごろ、直径４〜５センチほどの頭花を咲かせます。 |

キク科キク属の多年草で、学名は Dendranthema ornatum。英名はありません。 |

"Satsuma-nogiku" (Chrysanthemum ornatum) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to Kumamoto prefecture, Kagoshima prefecture in Kyushu, and Yakushima in Japan. This herb grows on the coast and can reach 25-50 cm in height. The stems and leaves are densely covered with silvery white hair, and the leaves split shallowly into pinnately lobes. From November to December, it blooms flower heads, about 4 to 5 cm in diameter. |
