"Satsuma-nogiku" (Chrysanthemum ornatum) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed to Kumamoto prefecture, Kagoshima prefecture in Kyushu, and Yakushima in Japan. This herb grows on the coast and can reach 25-50 cm in height. The stems and leaves are densely covered with silvery white hair, and the leaves split shallowly into pinnately lobes. From November to December, it blooms flower heads, about 4 to 5 cm in diameter.
