わが国の本州から四国、九州、それに朝鮮半島に分布しています。山地の谷沿いの湿地に生え、高さは１０～３０センチになります。茎は無毛で地面を這い、上部は斜上します。葉は卵形から三角状卵形で、表面に伏毛があります。５月から７月ごろ、上部の葉腋に花柄をだし、直径１０～１５ミリの白い花を咲かせます。花弁は５個あり、先端は浅～中裂します。雄しべは１０個。雌しべの柱頭は３個あります。果実は球状の蒴果で、熟すと６裂します。別名で「つるはこべ（蔓繁縷）」とも呼ばれます。nbsp;

ナデシコ科ハコベ属の多年草で、学名は Stellaria diversiflora。英名はありません。

"Sawa-hakobe" (Stellaria diversiflora) belongs to Caryophyllaceae (the Carnation family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Honshu to Shikoku and Kyushu in Japan, as well as the Korean peninsula. It grows in wetlands along valleys in mountainous areas and is 10 to 30 cm tall. The stems are hairless and crawl on the ground, with the upper part obliquely upturned. From May to July, white flowers 10 to 15 mm in diameter bloom from the stalks in the upper leaf axils. There are five petals with shallow to medium lobes at the tips. There are 10 stamens. The pistil has three stigmas. The fruit is a spherical capsule with six lobes when ripe. It is also known as "Tsuru-hakobe" (vine chickweed) in Japan.
