わが国の本州から四国・九州、沖縄に分布しています。山地の湿地などに生え、高さは５０〜８０センチになります。茎は太くて直立し、へら状披針形の根生葉がロゼット状につきます。茎葉は卵状披針形で、基部は茎を抱きます。葉にははじめ白いクモ毛が密生します。４月から６月ごろ、茎頂の散房花序に黄色い頭花を咲かせます。 |

キク科キオン属の多年草で、学名は Senecio pierotii。英名はありません。 |

The "Sawa-oguruma" (Senecio pierotii) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu and the Ryukyu Islands in Japan. This herb grows in montain bogs, and can reach 50-80 cm in height. The stem is thick and erect. The radical leaves are spatulate-lanceolate and arranged in rosette. The cauline leaves are ovate-lanceolate and enfold stems. The leaves are covered with dense gossamer hairs when young. The yellow flower-heads bloom in the terminal corymbs from April to June. |
