The Meadow saxifrage (Saxifraga granulata) belongs to Saxifragaceae (the Saxifrage family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe. This herb grows in rocky ridges, meadows, coppices, pastures, gravels, and it can reach 15-40 cm in height. The leaves are round-kidney-shaped, thickish, and sparsely haired. They are basal rosette and alternate on lower part of stem. The 3-10, white, fragrant flowers bloom in corymbs from May tu June. The fruits are 2-parted egg-shaped capsule. After flowering it dies, leaving only its bulbils.
