西アジアのパキスタンからアフガニスタン、トルクメニスタン、ロシア南部に分布しています。茎は基部で分枝して直立し、高さは5〜20センチになります。円柱形で青緑色の葉が互生します。3月から6月ごろ、茎頂に総状または集散花序をだし、小さな白色の花を咲かせます。花弁の真ん中には赤褐色の条が入ります。和名では「うすゆきまんねんぐさ(薄雪万年草)」と呼ばれ、ロックガーデンなどに利用されます。 
ベンケイソウ科マンネングサ属の一年草または多年草で、学名は Sedum hispanicum。英名は Spanish stonecrop。 
The Spanish stonecrop (Sedum hispanicum) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an annual or perennial herb that is distributed to West Asia, from Pakistan to Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and southern Russia. The stem is much branched at the base and erect, and can reach 5-20 cm in height. The leaves are bluish-green columnar and alternate. The racemes or cymes are borne on the shoot apices and bloom small white flowers. The petals have reddish-brown stripes at the center. This herb is planted in rock gardens.
