The Krauss' spikemoss (Selaginella kraussiana) belongs to Selaginellaceae (the Spikemoss family). It is an evergreen moss that is native to the Azores in the Atlantic Ocean and parts of mainland Africa. This moss grow to about 5 cm in height and is mat-forming with primitive fern-like leaves, that spreads via rooting stems. It is cultivated for ornamental purposes. It also requires a minimum temperature of 5 degrees C, and prefer a sheltered spot in full or partial shade, in moist, well-drained acid or neutral soil.
