	ふつうに栽培されている「バナナ（Musa acuminata）」の近縁種です。ジャワ島やマレー半島で栽培されています。偽茎の頂部から長い花茎を伸ばします。長さ４センチほどの小さな果実を多くつけます。果皮は緑色で、熟して明るい黄色になり、果肉は淡い黄色になります。食感は柔らかく、風味はとても甘くて、アメリカの食料品店で見られる標準的なバナナの風味に似ています。果実は小さすぎるので、ふつうは食用に向かないそうです。観賞用や飼料用に利用されます。
	バショウ科バショウ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Musa chiliocarpa (syn. Musa x paradisiaca、Musa cv. Thousand Finger)。英名は Thousand finger banana。
	The Thousand finger banana (Musa chiliocarpa) belongs to Musaceae (the Banana family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is a related species of Musa acuminata. This tree is cultivated in Java and the Malay Peninsula. Long flowering stalk is born at the top of pseudostem. This tree produces many small fruits, only 4 cm long. The skin is green ripening to bright yellow and the flesh paler yellow. The texture is soft and the flavor is very sweet and similar to the flavor of more standard bananas found in American grocery stores. The fruits are too small, so they are usually not edible. Used for ornamental and feed purposes.
