The Blue chalksticks (Senecio serpens) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a succulent, evergreen perennial herb that is native to the Cape Province in South Africa. This herb is branching from the base, and it can reach up to 30 cm in height, about 60 cm in diameter. The leaves are powdery blue-green, finger-like fleshy, and 2.5-5 cm long. The small white flowers in few flowered corymbs rise just above the foliage in summer.
