南アフリカのケープ地方南西部に分布しています。このフロリダ種は、フランシュクック山（Franschhoek Mountains）の一部にだけ生え、高さ２メートルほどの細長い潅木になります。７月から１０月ごろ、クリーム色がかったピンク色の花を咲かせます。両性花です。わが国へは、切り花としてオーストラリアから輸入されています。

ヤマモガシ科セルリア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Serruria florida。英名は Blushing bride。

The Blushing bride (Serruria florida) belongs to the family Proteaceae. It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed in the southwestern part of the Cape region of South Africa. The Serruria florida grows only in parts of the Franschhoek Mountains and is an elongated shrub about 2 m high. The creamy pink flowers come in July to October. It is an amphoteric flower. It is imported from Australia as cut flowers to Japan.
