The Sheep's-bit (Jasione montana) belongs to Campanulaceae (the Bellflower family). It is an annual or a biennial herb that is distributed in Europe and northwestern Africa. It grows in dry grasslands, rocky gravels, meadows, and on cliffs, and is 30-50 cm tall. The stem is erect and branched at the base. The leaves are linear or lanceolate, with gently wavy margins and pointed tips, forming a rosette. From May to September, small, pale blue flowers bloom in pincushion-like panicles at the top of the stem. The flowers are tubular flowers with narrow lobes on the petals. There are five oblong anthers, which are connated at the base to form a tubular shape.
