インド、マレー諸島が原産の「べにひものき（紅紐の木）」の園芸品種です。高さは２〜４メートルになり、葉腋から長さ２０〜５０センチの紐状の乳白色の花穂が垂れさがります。花弁は退化してありません。 |

トウダイグサ科エノキグサ属の常緑低木で、学名は Acalypha hispida cv. Alba。英名は Chenille plant、Pussy tail。 |

|
The Chenille plant (Acalypha hispida cv. Alba) belongs to Euphorbiaceae (the Spurge family). It is a small evergreen tree that a cultivar of "Chenille plant" native to the Malay Archipelago, India. The height is 2 to 4 m, and a string-shaped milky white spike of 20 to 50 cm in length hangs down from the axils. The petals are not degenerated. |
