しらたまほしくさ (白玉星草)

わが国の本州、静岡・愛知・三重県に分布しています。伊勢湾沿岸の湿地だけに生え、高さは２０センチほどになります。葉は線形、長さは１４〜２０センチで、先端が針状に尖ります。８月から１１月ごろ、白い球形の頭花を咲かせます。４月では、冬枯れのままです。 |

ホシクサ科ホシクサ属の一年草で、学名は Eriocaulon nudicuspe。英名はありません。 |

"Shiratama-hoshi-kusa" (Eriocaulon nudicuspe) belongs to Eriocaulaceae (the Pipewort family). It is an annual herb that is distributed to Shizuoka, Aichi, and Mie prefectures of Honshu in Japan. It grows only in the wetlands along the coast of Ise Bay and is about 20 cm high. The leaves are linear, 14 to 20 cm long, with needle-shaped tips. The white spherical flower heads come in August to November. In April, it remains withered in winter. |
