"Shiratama-hoshi-kusa" (Eriocaulon nudicuspe) belongs to Eriocaulaceae (the Pipewort family). It is an annual herb that is distributed to Shizuoka, Aichi, and Mie prefectures of Honshu in Japan. It grows only in the wetlands along the coast of Ise Bay and is about 20 cm high. The leaves are linear, 14 to 20 cm long, with needle-shaped tips. The white spherical flower heads come in August to November. In April, it remains withered in winter.
