わが国の各地をはじめ、台湾や朝鮮半島、中国に分布する「いぬたで」の白花品種です。道端や畑、荒れ地などに生え、高さは３０〜４０センチになります。花期は６月から１０月ごろ、やや緑色を帯びた白色の花を咲かせます。花穂は短くて垂れません。

タデ科イヌタデ属の一年草で、学名は Persicaria longiseta f. albiflora (syn. Polygonum longisetum f. albiflorum)。英名はありません。

The "Shirobana-inu-tade" (Persicaria longiseta f. albiflora) belongs to Polygonaceae (the Knotweed family). It is an annual herb that is a white-flowered form of "Inu-tade" native to Japan, as well as Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula and China. This herb grows in roadsides, fields or waste lands and can reach 30-40 cm in height. Its flower season is June through October. It blooms white flowers with a slight green color and its flowering spikes are short and not drooping.
