The White-flowered bladderwort (Utricularia uliginosa f. albida) belongs to Lentibulariaceae (the Bladderwort family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed throughout Japan, as well as in Taiwan, the Korean Peninsula, China, Southeast Asia, India, and Australia. It is a white-flowered variety of the bladderwort. It grows in wetlands, reaching a height of 5 to 15 cm. It extends slender rhizomes, forming insect sacs at intervals. The leaves are dimorphic, with submerged leaves and aerial leaves. Submerged leaves in deep water are large and linear, while aerial leaves are spatulate to oblanceolate, 3-8 mm long. From August to October, several white flowers, 3-4 mm in diameter, bloom at the top of the scape. The fruit develops a large calyx, taking on an ear-pick shape. In Taiwanese Chinese. it is called "白花齒萼挖耳草", and "白花齒萼挖耳草" (bai hua chi e wa er cao) in Chinese.
