わが国の本州、関東地方から中部地方に分布しています。亜高山帯に生える「きいちご（木苺）」の仲間で、高さは１メートルほどになります。「みやまうらじろいちご（深山裏白苺）」の変種です。葉の裏も緑色なのが特徴です。６月から７月ごろ、白色の花を枝先や葉腋に咲かせます。果実は球形で、直径１０〜１５ミリ、赤く熟して、香りと甘みが広がります。

バラ科キイチゴ属の落葉小低木で、学名は Rubus yabei var. marmoratus (syn. Rubus idaeus ssp. nipponicus f. marmoratus)。英名はありません。

"Shinano-kiichigo" (Rubus yabei var. marmoratus) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a deciduous shrub that is distributed from the Kanto region to the Chubu region of Honshu in Japan. It is a member of the "raspberry" that grows in the subalpine zone, and is about 1 m high. It is a variety of "Miyama-urajiro-ichigo". The characteristic of this species is that the front and back of the leaves are also green. From June to July, white flowers bloom on the tips of branches and axils. The fruits are spherical, 10 to 15 mm in diameter, ripen red and spread aroma and sweetness.
