わが国の四国、徳島県から高知県にかけて分布しています。「いそぎく(Chrysanthemum pacificum)」の近縁で、海岸の崖に生え、高さは25〜35センチになります。葉は倒卵形から長楕円形で、全縁または鈍鋸歯があります。葉縁は白く隈取られ、裏面には銀色の毛が密生しています。晩秋のころ、黄色い花を咲かせます。頭花は筒状花だけです。 
キク科キク属の多年草で、学名は Chrysanthemum shiwogiku。英名はありません。 
"Shio-giku" (Chrysanthemum shiwogiku) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Tokushima prefecture to Kochi prefecture of Shikoku in Japan. It is closely related to "Ajania' (Chrysanthemum pacificum) and grows on coastal cliffs, with a height of 25 to 35 cm. The leaves are obovate to oblong and have entire edges or blunt serrations. The leaf edge is white and shaded, and the back side is densely covered with silver hair. The yellow flowers come in late fall. The flower head is only a tubular flower.
