The Pale yellow-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium striatum) belongs to Iridaceae (the Iris family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in South America from Argentina to Chile. It grows in alpine meadows, open forests, and grasslands, reaching a height of about 80 cm. It has erect stems and gray-green, sword-shaped leaves similar to those of the iris. 6-petaled, pale yellow flowers bloom from June to July.
