わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国に分布しています。「つりふねそう（釣船草）」の白花品種です。山野の川沿いなどの湿ったところに生え、高さは５０〜８０センチになります。葉は菱状楕円形で互生し、縁には細かい鋸歯があります。８月から９月ごろ、帆掛け船に似た白い花を咲かせます。花弁には紫色の細点があります。別名で「ちょうせんつりふね（朝鮮釣船）」とも呼ばれます。

ツリフネソウ科ツリフネソウ属の一年草で、学名は Impatiens textori f. pallescens。英名は Touch-me-not。

The Touch-me-not (Impatiens textori f. pallescens) belongs to Balsaminaceae (the Balsam family). It is an annual herb that is native to Japan, the Korean Peninsula and China. This herb grows in wet places along streams and can reach 50-80 cm in height. The leaves are lozenged elliptic and alternate with fine toothed edges. The long peduncles are borne on the axiles and bloom white flowers from August to September. The flower is a tubular corolla that is hooked at one end and has small purple mottles.
