中国から朝鮮半島、そしてまれにわが国の山地にも分布します。庭園や公園に植栽されています。高さは１～３メートルになり、葉は対生します。４月から５月ごろ、小枝の先に白い４弁花を咲かせます。夏に果実は黒く熟します。 |

バラ科シロヤマブキ属の落葉低木で、学名は Rhodotypos scandens。英名は Black jetbead、Jetbead。 |

The Black jetbead (Rhodotypos scandens) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a small deciduous tree that is distributed from China to the Korean Peninsula, and rarely in Japan. This tree is usually planted in gardends or parks. It can reach 1-3 m in height. The leaves are opposite. The white 4-petaled flowers come on the terminal twigs from April to May. The fruits ripen black in summer. |
