アキノキリンソウ属とシオン属との属間交雑種です。おそらくは「ソリダゴ・カナデンシス」と「アスター・プタルミコイデス」との交雑です。１９１０年、フランスのリヨン市で発見されました。高さは６０センチほどになります。葉は線状披針形で鋸歯があり、互生します。７月から９月ごろ、よく分枝した円錐花序をだし、直径１．５センチほどの黄色い頭花を咲かせます。

キク科ソリダステル属の多年草で、学名は X Solidaster sp.。英名は Golden aster、Solidaster。

The Golden aster (X Solidaster sp.) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an intergeneric hybrid between Solidago and Aster, probably Canada goldenrod (Solidago canadensis) and Upland white aster(Aster ptarmicoides). It was discovered in the city of Lyon in 1910. This herb can reach about 60 cm in height. The leaves are linear-lanceolate, serrated and arranged aletrnately. The much-branched panicles are borne and the numerous yellow flower-heads; about 1.5 cm across bloom from July to September.
