アメリカのカリフォルニア州とオレゴン州に分布しています。海岸砂丘や岬に生え、高さは２０〜４０センチになります。葉はさじ形で円鋸歯があり、先端は鋭頭または鈍頭です。７月から１０月ごろ、葉腋や茎頂に総状の花序をだし、黄色い頭花を咲かせます。頭花には４〜１０個の舌状花と１０〜１８個の中心花があります。

キク科アキノキリンソウ属の多年草で、学名は Solidago spathulata。英名は Coast goldenrod。

The Coast goldenrod (Solidago spathulata) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to California and Oregon in the United States. This herb grows on coastal dunes and headlands, and it can reach 20-40 cm in height. The leaves are spatulate with crenate margines and acute to obtuse tips. The yellow flowerheads are bloom in the axillary and terminal racemiform clusters from July to September. The flowerhead has 4-10 ray flowers and 10–18 disk flowers.
