The Harlequin flower (Sparaxis tricolor) belongs to Iridaceae (the Iris family). It is a perennial herb that is native to South Africa. It can reach 10-40 cm in height and has gladiate leaves near the inflorescence. From March to May, a flashy flower with a strong contrast of color, similar to "Babiana", blooms on the stem apex. It blooms only during the day and closes on cloudy days and nights. Also, when it finishes blooming, the flowers will fall off, so it is not suitable for cut flowers.
