オーストラリアの東部、クイーンズランド州からニューサウスウェールズ州、ビクトリア州に分布しています。海岸沿いや丘陵の林内に生え、高さは４５メートルほどになります。樹皮は平滑で白色から灰色、ピンク色、クリーム色などをしています。小さな多角形の薄片が剥離します。葉は狭披針形から披針形で、わずかに光沢がある緑色です。葉腋から集散花序をだし、３個の白色からクリーム色の花を咲かせます。果実は卵形から壺形です。材は堅くて、用具などに利用されます。

フトモモ科コリンビア属の常緑高木で、学名は Corymbia maculata（syn. Eucalyptus maculata）。英名は Spotted gum。

The Spotted gum (Corymbia maculata) belongs to Myrtaceae (the Myrtle family). It is a tall evergreen tree that is distributed in the eastern part of Australia, from Queensland to New South Wales and Victoria. It grows in coastal and hilly forests, reaching a height of about 45 m. The bark is smooth and white to gray, pink, or cream-colored. Small polygonal flakes are exfoliated. The leaves are narrowly lanceolate to lanceolate and slightly shiny green. Cymes emerge from the leaf axils and produce three white to cream-colored flowers. The fruit is ovoid to urn-shaped. The wood is hard and is used for tools.
