南アフリカのケープ州南部・南東部からクワズール・ナタール州南部に分布しています。岩礫地に生え、高さは２５センチほどになります。塊根性の地生ランで、春に薄緑色の葉をロゼット状にだします。この上に花茎をだし、数十個の小さな花を咲かせます。花はほとんど白色で、唇弁は比較的大きくて３裂し、基部に紫色の斑点がいくつかあります。

ラン科ステノグロッティス属の落葉多年草で、学名は Stenoglottis macloughlinii。英名はありません。

The Stenoglottis macloughlinii belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is a deciduous perennial herb that is distributed from the southern and southeastern Cape Province to southern KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. It grows in rocky gravelly areas and grows to a height of about 25 cm. It is a tuberous, subterranean orchid that produces a rosette of light green leaves in the spring. It produces a flower stalk on which dozens of small flowers bloom. The flowers are mostly white, and the lip petals are relatively large and three lobed with a few purple spots at the base.
