About 24 species of the genus Stormaria are distributed to the winter rainfall area of from South Africa to Namibia. This species is distributed in the western part of the Northern Cape Province. In fall, the flower stalks are borne to give umbels and white flowers bloom. As the flowering progresses, the inflorescence hangs down. The leaves are linear tongue and have 6 or more. It is characterized by a sheath-like, reddish-brown cataphyll at the base of the leaf. In summer, the terrestrial dies and sleeps.
