The Angel wing (Pleurocybella porrigens) belongs to the family Tricholomataceae. It is a fungus that is widely distributed in the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere. It grows in coniferous forests and can be seen from August to October. It grows in clusters on fallen trees and stumps, such as Japanese cedar, pine, and hemlock. The pileus is 2 to 6 cm in diameter and circular at first, but as it grows, it becomes ear-shaped or semi-circular. The entire plant is white in color, with a light brown tinge when mature. Although once considered edible, they are now known as poisonous mushrooms that have been known to cause death.
