スーパートレニア [Index] [Back] インドシナ半島が原産で一年草の「トレニア」と、わが国の南西諸島から台湾が原産で多年草の「つるうりくさ（蔓瓜草）」との交雑種です。このなかには、株式会社ハクサンによって作出された「カタリーナ」シリーズや「ルミーナ」シリーズなどがあります。耐暑性があり、また比較的寒さにも強いので、４月から１１月ごろまで咲き続けます。高さは２０〜３０センチになり、株は直径８０センチほどに大きく広がります。ただ不稔性なので、種子はできません。写真は「カタリーナ」シリーズの「ブルーリバー」です。  ゴマノハグサ科ツルウリクサ属の一年草または多年草で、学名は Torenia hybrid (syn. Torenia fournieri x concolor)。英名は Super torenia。  The Super torenia (Torenia hybrid) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is an annual or a perennial herb that is a hybrid between "Bluewings" (Torenia fournieri), an annual herb native to the Indochina Peninsula, and "Tsuru-uri-kusa" (Torenia concolor), a perennial herb native to the Nansei Islands in Japan and Taiwan. These include the "Catarina" and "Lumina" series created by Haxan Corporation. It is heat tolerant and also relatively cold hardy, blooming from April to November. It grows to a height of 20 to 30 cm, and the plant can spread up to 80 cm in diameter. However, it is sterile and does not produce seeds.
