広く栽培されている園芸品種「ペチュニア」の一品種です。サントリーと京成バラ園芸との共同開発によって、既存の「ペチュニア」とブラジル原産の「ペチュニア原種」の交配によって作出されました。「ペチュニア」に比べて枝分れが多く、花つきもよいことが特徴です。花期は長く、春から秋まで咲き続けます。

The Garden petunia 'Surfinia' (Petunia x hybrida) belongs to Solanaceae (the Nightshade family). It is an annual herb that is one of the widely cultivated "garden petunia". It was created by the joint development of Suntory and Keisei Rose Nurseries, by crossing the existing "garden petunia" with the "ancestor petunia" native to Brazil. Compared to "garden petunia", it has more branches and has better flowering. The flowering season is long and it continues to bloom from spring to fall.
