わが国の本州、中部地方の愛知県と長野・岐阜県南部に分布しています。山地の林内や林縁に生え、高さは５０〜６０センチになります。３月から４月ごろ、淡い緑色の仏炎苞のある花を咲かせます。仏炎苞の中にある肉穂花序の付属体の先端が、白く球状になり、前方に曲がるのが特徴です。

サトイモ科テンナンショウ属の多年草で、学名は Arisaema yamatense ssp. sugimotoi。英名はありません。

"Suruga-tennansho" (Arisaema yamatense ssp. sugimotoi) belongs to Araceae (the Arum family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in Aichi prefecture and the southern part of Nagano and Gifu prefectures of Chubu regions in Honshu, Japan. It grows in mountain forests and on the edges of forests, and can reach a height of 50 to 60 cm. From March to April, the flowers with pale green Buddhist bracts bloom. The tip of the appendage of the spadix in the spathe becomes white and spherical, and it is characterized by bending forward.
