中国の南部や台湾が原産の「とうちく（唐竹）」の園芸品種です。桿の高さは５メートルほどになります。葉に淡黄白色の条斑が入るのが特徴です。近年、庭園や公園などによく植栽されています。

イネ科トウチク属の常緑タケ類で、学名は Sinobambusa tootsik cv. Suzukonarihira。英名はありません。

The "Suzuko-narihira-dake" (Sinobambusa tootsik cv. Suzukonarihira) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is an evergreen bamboo that is a cultivar of "Tootsik bamboo" native to southern Cnina and Taiwan. The culms can reach up to about 5 m in height. It is characterized by pale yellowish white streaks on the leaves. In recent years, it is often planted in gardens and parks.
