すずたけ (篶竹)

わが国の北海道から本州、四国・九州のおもに太平洋側それに朝鮮半島に分布しています。ブナ林などの林床に生え、桿の高さは２〜３メートルになります。桿の直径は１センチほどで淡紫褐色、直立して節からは１個の枝がでます。節は膨れません。桿は工芸品などに利用されます。水篶（美篶）刈る信濃（科野）、この枕詞のみすずは「すずたけ」の異称です。 |

イネ科スズタケ属の常緑タケ類で、学名は Sasamorpha borealis。英名はありません。 |

The "Suzu-take" (Sasamorpha borealis) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is an evergreen shrubby bamboo that is native to Japan and the Korean Peninsula. This shrubby bamboo grows in montane beech forests and can reach 2-3 m in height. The stem is about 1 cm across, pale purplish brown and erect. One leaf is borne at the nodes. The node is not swollen. The stem is processed into crafts and so on. "Misuzu-karu Shinano", this makurakotoba, "Misuzu", is another name for "Suzu-take." (Since many "Suzu-take" are produced in Shinano, it depends on "Shinano".) |
