ちょうのすけそう (長之助草)

わが国の本州の北・南アルプスや八ヶ岳、宝剣岳それに北海道から東北アジアに分布しています。高山帯の砂礫地などに生え、高さは５〜１０センチになります。葉は楕円形で、縁には丸い鋸歯があり、葉脈がへこみます。６月から７月ごろ、花茎の先に白色から淡黄色の花を咲かせます。花弁は８〜９個あります。名前は、明治時代のはじめに発見した須川長之助に因みます。 |

バラ科チョウノスケソウ属の落葉小低木で、学名は Dryas octopetala var. asiatica。英名はありません。 |

"Chonosuke-so" (Dryas octopetala var. asiatica) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a deciduous shrub that is distributed in the Northern and Southern Alps, Yatsugatake, Hokendake in Honshu and Hokkaido in Japan, and Northeast Asia . It grows on gravel in the alpine zone and can reach 5 to 10 cm in height. The leaves are elliptic, with round serrations on the edges and dented veins. From June to July, white to pale yellow flowers come on the tips of the flower stalks. There are 8-9 petals. The name comes from Chonosuke Sugawa, who was discovered at the beginning of the Meiji era (about 150 years ago). |
