ヨーロッパの西部から中部、北部が原産です。短いほふく茎があり、高さは１０〜２０センチになります。葉は小さな丸形またはさじ形です。花は直径２〜３センチの白色で、春に咲きます。赤色や赤紫色、ピンク色などの豊富な花色の園芸品種があります。写真中９〜１１・下は、園芸品種の「ポンボネット（cv. Pomponette）」。 |

キク科ヒナギク属の常緑多年草で、学名は Bellis perennis。英名は English daisy。 |

The English daisy (Bellis perennis) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to western, central and northern Europe. This herb has short creeping rhizomes, and can reach 10-20 cm in height. The leaves are small rounded or spoon-shaped. The flowers are white, 2-3 cm across and bloom in spring. There are many flower-colored cultivars; red, magenta or pink. Photos 10th-12th and bottom, show the horticultural variety "Pomponette". |
