わが国の本州、関東地方・新潟県以西から四国、九州それに朝鮮半島や中国東北部に分布しています。山地の谷筋などに生え、高さは３〜５メートルほどになります。樹皮は暗灰色で円形の皮目が多くあります。葉は卵円形で三行脈が目立ち、３裂するものとしないものが混じります。３月から４月ごろ、葉の展開に先立って黄色い花を咲かせます。別名で「うこんばな（鬱金花）」とも呼ばれます。中国語では「三椏烏葯（san ya wu yao）」です。 |

クスノキ科クロモジ属の落葉低木で、学名は Lindera obtusiloba。英名はありません。 |

The "Dankoubai" (Lindera obtusiloba) belongs to Lauraceae (the Laurel family). It is a small decidous tree that is distributed westward from Kanto district-Niigata Prefecture on Honshu to Shikoku, Kyushu in Japan, the Korean Peninsula and northeastern China. This tree grows in montane valleys and can reach 3-5 m in height. The barks are dark gray with with many round lenticels. The leaves are ovate-round with conspicuous three parallel-veins, and mixes trilobate and entire. The yellow flowers bloom in March to April before foliation. In Chinese, it is called "三椏烏葯" (san ya wu yao). |
