The Dendrobium ellipsophyllum belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Burma, Thailand, Laos, Viet Nam and Yunnan of China. This herb grows in montane forests and is an epiphyte on the trees. The stem looks like cane and can reach about 40 cm in height with elliptic, disticous and twisted leaves. Small white and brown flowers come in spring and summer.
