The Deuterocohnia brevifolia belongs to Bromeliaceae (the Pineapple family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Argentina and Bolivia. It grows a very small narrowly standing rosette, up to 5 cm in diameter. They also gather and form a mound up to 90 cm in diameter. The leaves are densely arranged, triangular, toothed at the base and with sharp tips, up to 2 cm long. The flowers are small and insignificant, solitary, cylindrical and intensely green and bloom in summer.
