南アフリカのドラケンスバーク（Drakensberg）山脈に分布しています。高さは４５センチほどになりますが、這い性があります。春先から秋にかけて、ローズピンクの花を咲かせます。園芸品種も数多く作出されています。写真中４は、立ち性タイプの園芸品種「デイドリーム（cv. Daydream）」。

ゴマノハグサ科ディアスキア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Diascia fetcaniensis。英名は Diascia。

The Diascia (Diascia fetcaniensis) belongs to Scrophulariaceae (the Figwort family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to South Africa, the Drakensberg mountains. This herb can reach about 45 cm in height. It has two grownig types, bush type and creeping type. The rose-pink flowers come from spring to fall. Many cultivars have been breeded. The 4th photo is a cultivar 'Daydream'.
