The Silver ponysfoot (Dichondra argentea) belongs to Convolvulaceae (the Morning glory family). It is an evergreen vine that is distributed to the Midwestern United States, from New Mexico to southwestern Texas, as well as Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia, northwestern Argentina, and southeastern Brazil. It is a creeping plant that grows mainly in the subtropics and is about 10 cm tall and 1 to 2 m long. The leaves are small and rounded, similar to those of the water lilies. It is used for ornamental purposes and as a groundcover. There is a cultivar 'Silver Falls'.
