ネパールやチベットのヒマラヤ山脈に分布しています。小さな巻きひげのあり、つる性です。２メートル以上の高さまで、よじ登ります。葉は三出複葉です。夏の初めから霜が降りるまで、鮮やかな黄色い花を咲かせます。花は赤っぽいいんげん豆のような莢に変わります。中国語では「紫金龍（zi jin long）」と呼ばれます。

ケマンソウ科コマクサ属の多年草で、学名は Dicentra scandens (syn. Dactylicapnos scandens)。英名は Golden tears。

The Golden tears (Dicentra scandens) belongs to Fumariaceae (the Fumitory family). It is a perennial herb that is native in the Himalayas of Nepal and Tibet. This herb is a climbing vine with tiny tendrils. It will clamber to a height of over 2 m. The leaves are ternately compound. The rich yellow flowers continuously bloom all summer long and until first frost. The flowers turn into reddish bean-shaped pods. In Chinese, it is called "紫金龍" (zi jin long).
