The Western flag iris (Diplarrena latifolia) belongs to Iridaceae (the Iris family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed in southeastern Australia. It grows in moist heathlands, marshes, and along streams, reaching a height of 30 to 60 cm. The leaves are long and cord-like, measuring 30 to 50 cm. From spring to early summer, it extends a flower stalk and blooms white flowers. The perianth consists of three large segments and three small segments; the small segments bear yellow and purple markings.
