The Longmamma nipple cactus (Dolichothele sphaerica) belongs to Cactaceae (the Cactus family). It is an evergreen perennial herbacious plant that is distributed southeast Texas in the United States south into Tamaulipas in northern Mexico. This cactus grows in arid areas and forms flat clusters. Stems are globular, medium green, 5-6 cm in diameter. Central spine is one, yellowish and radial spines are 12-14, needle like whitish to pale yellow. Flowers are bright yellow, 6 cm in diameter.
