The Draba lasiocarpa belongs to Brassicaceae (the Mustard family). It is an annual herb that is distributed in the European Alps, the Balkan Mountains and the Carpathian Mountains. It grows from mountainous areas to subalpine grasslands and rocky gravel, and can reach 10 to 15 cm in height. The leaves are basal, linear lanceolate to string-shaped. In spring, the flower stalks are stretched to form racemes and bloom bright yellow flowers. The petals are broad-obovate.
