熱帯アフリカの西部に分布しています。茎は細く株立ちして、２〜３個の卵形の葉が輪生します。光沢のある緑色の葉には、黄色い斑が不規則に入ります。写真は園芸品種で、黄白色の斑が入る「フロリダビューティ（cv. Florida Beauty）」。和名では「ほしせんねんぼく（星千年木）」と呼ばれます。

リュウゼツラン科リュウケツジュ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Dracaena surculosa。英名は Gold-dust dracaena。

The Gold-dust dracaena (Dracaena surculosa) belongs to Agavaceae (the Agave family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed in the western part of tropical Africa. The stems are thin and stand, and 2-3 ovate leaves are arraged in whorled. The shiny green leaves have irregular yellow spots. The photo is a gardening variety, "Florida Beauty" with yellowish white spots. In Japanese name, it is called "Hoshi-sennen-boku".
