Caribbean trumpet tree (Tabebuia aurea) belongs to Bignoniaceae (the Trumpet creeper family). It is a semi-tall dry season-deciduous tree that is native to South America; Suriname, Brazil, eastern Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay, and northern Argentina. This tree is growing to 8 m tall. The leaves are palmately compound, with five or seven leaflets. The flowers are bright yellow, up to 6.5 cm diameter, bloom in a loose panicle. The fruit is a slender capsule.
