The Pink lapacho (Tabebuia impetiginosa) belongs to Bignoniaceae (the Trumpet creeper family). It is a tall deciduous tree that is distributed from northern Mexico south to northern Argentina. This tree can reach about 30 m in height. The bark is brownish gray, tough and hard to peel. The leaves are opposite, elliptic to lanceolate with lightly serrated margins. The flowers are large, tubular shaped, pink to magenta, come in early spring before folliation.
