タゲテス・テヌイフォリア [Index] [Back] メキシコから中央アメリカ、それに南アメリカ北西部に分布しています。マツ・ナラ林や疎林、低木帯などに生え、高さは３０〜５０センチになります。葉は緑色で奇数羽状複葉、シダのように細かく深く分裂していて、揉むと爽やかで強いレモンの香りがあります。５月から１０月ごろ、小さくて鮮やかな黄色の頭花を咲かせます。頭花はふつう５個の幅広の舌状花が、７〜９個の管状花を取り囲む構造をしています。花壇に観賞用として、または野菜畑のコンパニオンプランツとして広く栽培されています。 キク科タゲテス属の一年草で、学名は Tagetes tenuifolia。英名は Lemon marigold、Signet marigold。 The Lemon marigold (Tagetes tenuifolia) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is an annual herb that is native to Mexico, Central America, and northwestern South America. It grows in pine and oak forests, open woodlands, and shrublands, reaching a height of 30 to 50 cm. The leaves are green and odd-pinnate, finely and deeply lobed like ferns; when rubbed, they emit a refreshing, strong lemon scent. From May through October, it produces small, bright yellow flower heads. The flower heads typically consist of five broad ray florets surrounding seven to nine disk florets.
